Edward A. Gborgbor

Passionately known as Edinyo by his friends and colleague workers, Edward has a lot of work experience as a result of working with different institutions. He has worked at Star Assurance Company Ltd as a sales representative, banker at Barclays Bank Ghana Ltd, Tema main branch and as record keeper at Ashaiman Health Centre.

Edward has also undertaken a lot of research assignments in fields such as decentralization, conflicts, and inequalities in Ghana, project funded by CRISE, University of Oxford chieftaincy and development, gender and institutional cultures of the University of Ghana, as part of a five-country research project on gender and the institutional cultures of African Universities Research project, African Association of Universities(AAU) sponsored study and gender, livelihood and land tenure in South Eastern and North Eastern Ghana, project funded by the IDRC,Ottawa.

Edward had his tertiary education at the University of Ghana where he studied for his first degree. He therefore holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. He also attended Kpando Senior Secondary School (S.S.S.C.E Agric.course),Dadome L/A Junior Secondary School (B.E.C.E 1994),Mepe Technical Institute,N.V.T.I grade 1&2 in General Agric and Dadome L/A Middle school (M.L.S.C).

Edward is very enlightened about political issues and enjoys listening to political debates and arguments. He is of the view that, politicians should eschew lies and strive to work for the general well being of citizens.

Edinyo’s current position as a senior research assistant at Centre for Gender Studies and Advocacy (UG), requires of him to draw questionnaires, collect both primary and secondary data (through interviews), interpret and analyze data, manage and update the resources at the Centre’s Resource Unit, organize monthly film shows for the university community and making gender policies and attending conferences on gender issues.
