I am a Senior Research Fellow in Immunology Department, Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, University of Ghana, Legon. My research for the past years has focused on immune responses to potential multi-stage malaria vaccine candidate antigens since 2003. My long-term career goal is to become an independent investigator, to conduct translational research into immune mechanisms and host receptor polymorphisms involved in risk of HIV infection, reservoir size, latency, and HIV vaccines. Additionally, to investigate genetic polymorphisms and immunological biomarkers to other viral infections and infectious diseases as well as non-communicable diseases of public health importance, especially in women and children.
My goal is to transfer the knowledge acquired through teaching, research, mentorship, and capacity building. Furthermore, as a biomedical scientist to establish local and international collaborative translational research.
Research Interest
Immune mechanisms to Malaria, Malaria haemoglobinopathies, Immunology and Epidemiology of viral and infectious diseases such as HIV, hepatitis and co-infections, HIV cure research, Community Health Education and Development.
