Dr. Doris Mawuse Aglobitse was appointed as a management committee member for the Centre for Gender Studies and Advocacy (GECENSA) in 2021. She is currently the Programme Specialist, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Gender Team Lead at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Ghana Country Office. A dynamic public health specialist, capable leader, of extraordinary character who holds a Ph.D. in Public Health, an MPhil in Women, Development, and Family Welfare, and a BSc degree in Home Science all from the University of Ghana, Legon. Prior to joining UNFPA, Ms. Aglobitse worked at the then National Council on Women and Development, (Current Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection), lectured at the University of Ghana, Legon, and has professional experience for over 30 years in Reproductive Health and Rights, Gender Equality and Empowering of Women as well as Youth programming. Ms. Aglobitse focuses on empowering adolescent girls and preparing today’s young people for tomorrow. With certificates in strategic communication from Johns Hopkins University, Doris’ aspiration is to use her energy and talents to make a positive difference in the world.
