Brief Profile
Irene Kretchy is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy, School of Pharmacy, University of Ghana, Legon. She is a Social Behavioural Pharmacist with academic background in pharmacy (social) and psychology. She is also a fellow of the Ghana College of Pharmacists (Social Pharmacy/Public Health) and an affiliate of the Centre for Gender Studies and Advocacy at the University of Ghana.
Research Interest
Irene Kretchy’s research area is social and behavioral aspects of health with specific research interests in biopsychosocial approaches to medication use and other treatments for physical and mental illness, as well as health care utilization based on gender dynamics and women’s health. Her research activities have also focused on factors in response to healthcare utilization, understanding and optimizing health-related behaviours and the assessment of perceptions and experiences of patients and formal and informal caregivers.
