Third Cohort Short Course on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion for Organizational Development
The Centre for Gender Studies and Advocacy (CEGENSA), University of Ghana with the success of its previous short course program in the subsequent years, organised the third edition of the short course on the theme Gender Equality and Social Inclusion for Organisational Development on the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th October 2024. The course was to build /enhance the capacity of relevant personnel in gender equality and inclusivity to create a safe inclusive work environment for all.

Prof. Akosua Adomako Ampofo, Former Director of CEGENSA
Former Director of CEGENSA, Prof. Akosua Adomako Ampofo acknowledged the presence of all participants to the course. She also delivered a brief history about CEGENSA, the content of the course and encouraged all participants to involve themselves in the course.
The course was led by renowned and erudite tutors as follows:
- Mrs. Dinah Adiko is a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Consultant at Private Consultant. She lectured on the topic Gender Bias and Social Exclusion at the workplace.
- Mrs. Majorie Tackie is a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Coordinator at Transforming Teaching, Education and Learning(T-TEL). She lectured on the topic The Relationship between GESI and Organisational Development.
- Mr. Dennis Armah Esp. is a Lawyer at T Forson and Co- President African Heights Foundation (NGO). He lectured on the topic Gender – based Discrimination, Social Exclusion at the workplace. Legal Perspective.
- Professor Vera Fiador is an Associate Professor of Finance and Head of Department, Finance at University of Ghana Business School. She lectured on GESI, Profitability and Corporate Institutions (CI).
- Professor Charlotte Wrigley- Asante is a Professor at University of Ghana and current Head of Department, University of Ghana. She lectured on the topic A GESI Strategy for the workplace.
- Her Eminence (Mrs). Joana Adzoa Opare is an Executive Director at Gender Planning Consults Ltd. She lectured on the topic Sustaining Equitable Work Culture and Environment.

The mode of teaching was both online and in-person. The participants came from various institutions such as SSNIT, ECG, Office of The President, ADB PLC, T-TEL, Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), Lands (NHIA), NCA, Information Services Department, Foreign Affairs, National Commission for Civic Education, Goshen Governance, Ghana Education Service, University of Ghana and many more.

In conclusion, Prof. Deborah Atobrah in her closing remark thanked all for their immense participation and encouraged participants to be advocates of Gender Equality in their institutions after which all participants were awarded a certificate.
